South Coast Highway in Oceanside is full of gems like this plant shop I stumbled on called Landmark Plant Co. It’s full of pots, plants and cute trinkets. This area in Oceanside is very walkable and, in my opinion, walking is always a fun way to explore any town even your own community. And, if you’re coming from outside North County San Diego, the Coaster train stop is just a few blocks away which is a nice bonus!

I got a chance to learn the ins and outs of how Davin and Jessica Waite run their plant-based, zero-waste restaurant @theplotrestaurant in Oceanside.

I spent the weekend visiting one of my favorite areas in California, the wine regions just north of Santa Barbara from Buellton to Santa Maria.

As a coffee fanatic, I was so happy to see @elkafecitohut pop up in my neighborhood in Vista. I got to interview the owners, Rodrigo Rodriguez and Denisse Melgoza, and I was so inspired by their story. They lost their hospitality jobs during the pandemic and decided to take a leap and start their own coffee shop, without any experience.

I visited @sipwinebeer in Escondido, California and talked with the owner, Cassandra Schaeg, to learn more about the inspiration for her wine/beer space and how she's sharing the stories of women and BIPOC winemakers with her customers.
